On the Dracula Tour we go on an journey to discover the life and legends of Vlad the Impaller, commonly known as Prince Dracula. Our first destination is Targoviste, the little town that was once the main residence of Vlad. We will explore the ruins of the medieval fortress , discover his life as ruller of Wallachia, defender of Christianity, equally loved and feared by his subjects. Landmarks: Chindia Tower and the Princely Court.
From Targoviste we drive to the realm of stories and legends: Transylvania. Overseeing the Rucar-Bran pass, lies the mythical castle known as Dracula’s den. We wander the dark chambers, listen to ghost stories and learn about the Gothic image of Dracula.
Overnight in Sighisoara, birthplace of Vlad the Impaller.
On the second day of our journey we explore the cobbled streets of Sighisoara. This citadel so well preserved, that the entire old center is a UNESCO heritage site. The tour includes a visit at the house where Vlad spent his early childhood, the Clock Tower , the Stag and Venetian Houses, the Student Stairs and the Church on the Hill.
After Sighisoara we start our way back to Bucharest but first, if time allows it, we stop at the monastery of Snagov. This is considered to be the burial place of Vlad the Impaller. Drop off at your accommodation / airport.
