The Seaside Day Trip tour will introduce you to the beautiful and culturally diverse region of Dobrogea. We will visit the ancient fortress of Histria, the oldest human settlement in the country and Constanta, a city right at the shore of the Black Sea.
The day trip to Constanta starts with early pick-up from your accommodation. Three hours later in our trip we arrive at Histria fortress in the village of Istria. Here we will explore the ancient city that has almost 3000 years of history.
After Histria we start towards Constanta, not only the biggest towns in the region but also one of the Black Sea’s most important harbours. Our tour of Constanta begins in the part of town called the Peninsula. Here we visit the Folk Art Museum that hosts an extensive collection of traditional Romanian costumes from all the regions of the country.
After the museum we make our way towards Ovidiu Square to see the statue of the Roman poet Ovidiu and learn the story of his exile from Rome. For a stunning view over the Peninsula and the marina we climb the minaret of the Mosque Karel I.
From here we are off to the Quay to see Constanta’s landmark: the Casino, an impressive Art Nouveau building*. From the Quay we stroll towards our last stop: Tomis Marina.
In the evening we return to Bucharest. The day trip to Constanta ends with drop off at your accommodation.
*Please be aware that the building of the Casino is not open for visitors as it awaits renovation.
